Wessex Quiltmakers’ 2018 Exhibition

‘NEARLY 40’

was held at the Family Church in Middle Brook Street, Winchester on Friday17th August and Saturday 18th August 2018

The title, ‘Nearly 40’, relates to the fact that we celebrate our 40th birthday in 2019.

The photographs below give a flavour of the wide range of quilts and textile art that was on display. For a relatively small group-our membership hovers around 40- we felt very proud to be able to mount an exhibition featuring many pieces that demonstrated a wide range of techniques from traditional patchwork patterns and quilting through to the latest in textile art methods.  We were thrilled to welcome over 500 people to view the exhibition over the two days. The money we raised from sales of drinks and cakes, our sales table, the bag tombola and the raffle will support three charities; SERV Wessex, (the night time blood runners), the Air Ambulance and the Winchester Hospice Appeal.
